Mandatory Regulatory Tests
NCC Radio Type Certification
All dronesNational Communications Commission (NCC)
Any drone with wireless communication features (including remote controllers and video transmission modules) must obtain NCC radio type certification before import or sale in Taiwan.

Under 2 kg|Mandatory from 2024/7/1Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI)
Drones under 2 kg max takeoff weight equipped with camera, positioning/navigation, or communication interfaces are subject to mandatory product certification since July 1, 2024 (Standards: CNS 15598-1 safety, CNS 15936 EMI).

Importing or manufacturing drones with a max takeoff weight of 25 kg or more requires CAA type approval, including design and manufacturing review, before legal operation.

Strongly recommended for government procurementCoordinated by Ministry of Digital Affairs
Drones intended for government procurement or large drones (25 kg+) are strongly recommended to pass cybersecurity testing conducted by the UAV Cybersecurity Joint Testing Laboratory, covering 11 test items including system, software, communications, and firmware security.
